Register Ashe Attends Casino Ground Breaking

 Yesterday, Register Ashe received an invitation to attend the ground breaking ceremony for the MGM Springfield casino. Always an advocate for Springfield, Mr. Ashe is hopeful that this casino will bring vibrancy and economic opportunities back to the City of Homes.

Register Ashe Visits Homer Street School

Each year, hats, gloves, scarves and mittens are collected by both employees and customers of the Registry of Deeds in an effort to ensure that community children are able to properly brave the New England chill.  Last week, Register Ashe visited the Homer Street School to drop off these items for our 2015 Mitten Drive.  Principal Kathleen Sullivan was gracious enough to welcome the Register and introduce him to some of the school's students.  While our office is involved in a variety of community outreach programs, this is certainly one of our favorites!  Thank you, Principal Sullivan and Homer Street School for your hospitality!  Stay warm!

Document Recording Checklist Added to Website

Recently, a Document Recording Checklist was added to our website to serve as a reference guide for our recording requirements. This listing was created to keep our document standards consistent, as well as maintain organization throughout the recording process. Using this checklist ensures that your documents will meet the recording standards of the Hampden County Registry of Deeds, which results in improved efficiency while conducting business. It can be found in the Information section of our website.

Recently, Register Ashe spoke at the Polanie Club's 24th Annual Fashion Show and presented a proclamation to this year's scholarship award recipient, Lauren Kennedy.  The Polanie Club works tirelessly to give back to its community and prides itself on its involvement in numerous organizations, such as the Baystate Breast Cancer Program, March of Dimes, Shriner's Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House, just to name a few.  All money raised from this event goes towards the scholarship fund, which is bestowed upon young individuals who give back to others, just as they do.  Congratulations, Lauren!

Register Ashe Releases Figures for Calendar Year 2014

Today, Register Donald E. Ashe held his semi-annual Release and Forecast for Calendar Year 2014.  In 2014, $1,177,099,500.00 was spent on real estate in Hampden County, which resulted in the recording of 69,753 documents and collection of $11,794,868.97 in total revenue for the Registry of Deeds.  Of that revenue, $31,970,000.00 was spent on casino related properties in the downtown Springfield area.
